This accident caused commute to go from 27 minutes to two hours. I was frustrated trying to get home so Jen could get to her Moms’ Group on time, but to be honest, I’m just glad to be alive. I didn’t know any details of the accident until just now. Apparently, one of the passengers in the car didn’t make it. That’s really sad news. Gracie was worried about it, too. She asked why I was so late, and I told her what I knew about the accident. Immediately, she wanted to know if anyone was hurt, like maybe a broken leg. I told her I didn’t know but I would look it up tonight. And now I know. Hopefully she’ll forget and won’t ask me tomorrow.

Apparently, Ben didn’t know that marijuana is the “Gateway” drug. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.

Looks like Opera is going down swinging. Kind of pathetic.

I’m not defending Microsoft here, but with Opera’s recent “ultimatum” to Apple, this just doesn’t make the company look good.

Not to sound like a brash techie or anything, for sale but this guy just needs to suck it up a little bit. Nobody likes a whiner. Ten bucks says that after his IT guys read this article, he has “funny email problems.”

Wow! I just installed Youpi Key, a free piece of software for Mac OS X. Very cool! Reminds me of QuicKeys from “back in the day” (you know, 1993; holy crap, I’ve been using Macs for more than a decade; I feel old all of a sudden).

Weirdest thing happened with Scooby, my PowerBook, yesterday. I lost all audio. iTunes wouldn’t even start playing a track. I figured I’d restart at the end of day to see if that fixed it, but as I was getting ready to do so, I pulled the plug out of the speaker jack (I have Scooby plugged into a nice Harman/Kardan system). All of a sudden, not only did the sound come back, but it played all the sounds it skipped during the day, like they were stuck in some sort of buffer. Weird.

Today I had to reset the power manager, because I’ve had it with the weird sleep problems with this machine. Hopefully this will fix it. If not, time for a clean install of Jaguar, unless 10.2.4 comes out and fixes my problems by some chance.

If you ever have to reset the power manager on a PowerBook G4 (DVI and later models), take the keyboard off. The reset switch is under the keyboard, in the upper left hand corner.
