Gregory Peck has passed away

Gregory Peck has passed away at the age of 87. From the article: He had just been getting older and more fragile. He wasn’t really ill. He just sort of ran his course and died of old age.

I loved the film To Kill A Mockingbird. I always thought “Atticus Finch” would be a cool name for a band, too.

Gee, No Connection There

Nora Doyle, writing for the King County Journal in Washington: Some Foster High School teachers are balking at the idea that the school board could refuse to let them accept $43,000 worth of new computers the school was recently awarded through a grant program…

But according to the school technology plan created in 2000, Tukwila schools will move toward using only personal computers, not the Macintosh, for financial reasons, Superintendent Michael Silver said…

About two years ago, the school was the winner of a $427,000 Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant…

That’s funny. The school’s web site has a big apple on the front page.

Gracie on Fostering and Possible Adoption

Jen and I sat down with Gracie tonight to talk to her about the possibility of being a foster home, with the hopes to eventually adopt a child. We explained to Grace that we may have other children staying with us, some for short periods of time, some for longer. We explained that she would be our helper, and would be a big sister to any children that stay with us. Her immediate response: “I have an extra toothbrush. They can use it.”

I think we’ll be OK.
